Book Signings

Yesterday, in the afternoon, I went to a book signing with my mom and dad. The four authors we saw were Amy Herrick, Kate Messner, Mary G. Thompson, and Valerie Martin. I got two books there, Wake Up Missing and The Time Fetch. I also got some books that weren't coming out till next year. It was so fun, because there was lemonade and cookies and lots and lots of books. I got to sit in the front row, and they noticed me a lot. It was really fun!

First Clarinet Lesson

Yesterday I had my first clarinet lesson. Before I had it, I had soccer practice. It was kind of difficult because I had to skip part of soccer and my teacher had to find me. For the next lessons after that, we are changing the time to during school. I learned how to breathe correctly and put it together. I will practice and keep improving!

Instruments and After School Activities

In my school, You can sign up for after school activities. This year, there isn't a lot to do, but I signed up for a couple things. In school, I am going to sign up for 5th-6th grade soccer and private clarinet. I haven't played school soccer before, but we will have games and practice and more. I also haven't payed clarinet before, but we rented one and we are trying to work it around Soccer. It might be during school, it might be after. They both start next week. Also, I'm playing piano at the local music store. I have played piano before, and I'm glad I can start up again. I am on level 2A. They have already started. I'm really glad and I get to try some new things and I am feeling more connected to where I live!

Apple Orchard

Today My family and I went to an apple orchard near our house. It was huge! We got a big bag to put apples in, and we got more than twenty. When we got there, We saw how big it was and all the places you could stop and buy treats. When we got to the orchard part, it was beautiful. It was really big, with a good view of a giant hill. The apple trees went on for a long time, and there was a stream. There were even goats!  I ate so many apples, and we plan on making apple crisp tonight.

Check Out My Other Blog!

I hope some of you readers go to my other blog, audreysopinion.blogspot.com. It shows all my opinions about kids books, things to do, advice and so much more! Please check it out!

School Started

Last Monday, for me was, the first day of fifth grade. It's really exciting to tell all of my readers, for a few reasons:
1) I've been writing on this blog since kindergarten and I write my own posts now (My dad used to write them for me and I would tell him what to say).
2) It was fifth grade, where I'm a bigger kid and more mature.
3) I started a new Private school in New York.

In private school, or at least in mine, so much is different from Chicago. There are smaller classrooms, and they are all 4-5. Everyone thinks I'm a fourth grader! Also, there aren't uniforms or letter grades. Also, fifth grade is different. In 4th and 5th grade here, you rotate between classrooms for math and break into groups for drama. Also, there's something called curiosity where you can study what your interested in.  This year, I'll have a lot to blog about!

Improvisational poetry (I think that's what I call it)

Today while I was posting on my other blog, Audrey's Opinion, I got an idea. Why is there improv acting, but not improv writing?
Improv poetry is writing without planning it out.  Like improv acting, but poetic.

So, now I present the poem, Some Things.

                                   Some Things
I am a person, a person I say
I like to sing, I like to play
I like things, things that are big
I like giraffes, buses, airplanes and Pigs
I also like things, things that are small
Things like ice cream, donuts and balls
Yes I like things, I do I do
But I like nothing more than you.

Comment please!
