Some even more exciting things (I need to start writing on my blog more)

Alright, here I go.

The End of School Officially Came! We had a pool party and a 5th Grade Moving Up ceremony on the third to last day of school, We went on a hike the second to last day of school, and the last day of school we sat through graduation and had an early dismissal. I then went with a few friends to get Hibachi and Go Kart and a couple other things.

The 365,000 word challenge! This is something that I heard of on the National Novel WritingMonth Site Young Writers Program, where you write 1,000 words a day for an entire year! I started it on my birthday, and ever since then that is what I've been doing.

Birthday Party! I went to a friend's birthday party a week ago. There I got to stick my face in whipped cream, eat ice cream soup, get sprayed with a hose, and hang out with my friends. It was really fun.

I'm going to Las Vegas! On Wednesday, I fly out to Las Vegas with my parents and hang out with my grandma for that time.

My Radio Interview was posted!!!! You can now listen to it online, and because it was posted, my book has gotten even more publicity!

So, yeah. I've been pretty busy.

Even MORE exciting things I've done but been Putting Off Writing on My Blog Until Now (FINALLY)

Hello, people. There are millions of things I have done in the last month, but I've been procrastinating with my blog posts. Here is a quick list:

All of my novels got printed out and delivered to me. My book is now available on amazon, and although only a few people have bought it, I'm excited.

I did my book reading! Almost 20 people came (including family members), and I signed a lot of books.

Someone from the reading wanted to interview me for a radio podcast! I'll explain what happened a little later, but she wanted to interview me. I was really excited.

Spring Break Happened. I traveled to Massachusetts and NYC and back in time for Easter. Now I'm in school again.

I turned into a zombie for a video. I had lots of professional makeup done, and in the video I had to eat my dad (not really though). I had to stuff blood and guts into my mouth. It was GROSS!

I did the interview! I went up to NYC and got interviewed only a couple days ago, and it was a little nervewracking but fun.

Things coming up:

I have a dance (as well as an art)  show next week! Alright, it's only for school, but it will be really fun!

MY BIRTHDAY IS IN 17 DAYS! I'm turning eleven!

MY BIRDAY PARTY! Enough said.

The end of school. I'm kind of sad that it's happening but next year I will be in 6th grade, which is middle school! Plus, my summer will be awesome!

There. Had to get that out of my system.

New Book Updates

Well, the process of me writing a novel is over. After my mother finished revising and my dad finished formatting, we went onto a self publishing website and uploaded it. We proofed it and made sure everything was good, then we ordered 60 copies of my book. At first it was supposed to come the Tuesday  after my reading, but we soon fixed it so it came today. I am so excited! I am keeping on copy for myself, but I will sell the others on Sunday in a bookstore in NYC!!!!!!!! A lot of my relatives are coming, and they are all buying books! Plus, my book is available on Amazon and already three people have ordered it. Plus, next week is spring break, so I am going on a vacation. I am so excited!!!!!

Current Events!

Sorry I haven't really been blogging. I've been really busy. But here are some of the current events of my life!

In school, There has been a recital, a concert and a 4th and 5th grade play. I played Clarinet in the recital, and I really did well. I was also in the play, and I sang with the chorus in the concert.
My family and I are doing really well on finishing my novel. I have finished my revisions, and my mom is almost done. My dad is formatting, and we have an author photo even. I'm really excited for my reading!
I also went to the city a few weeks ago. I got to see an Irish music concert, and see the movie The Wind Rises. Last week I went to see Divergent the movie, and I thought it was okay. Not amazing, but good.

That's about exciting as my life gets.

I Finished My Novel!

On Monday,  February 24 in the morning, I finished my novel in school. Double spaced it is 202 pages and 56,160 words. I was very happy, so happy that I jumped up from my seat and danced with joy. Everyone was really proud of me, and that night my dad printed out two copies of the manuscript so me my parents and I could edit it. My dad also printed one out for himself, so we can all read through it.
If you didn't know, I have been writing a novel for the last four months. I was supposed to get it done by the 28th, but I finished earlier so it gave my family more time to revise. I am really excited!

The next day I went over to another friend's house to play. After that,  my parents and I went to another friends house to have dinner, and so I also slept over.
The next day, I got to go to my old school to visit for half a day. After that, I got to sleep over with another one of my friends.
The next day I flew home. I was supposed to fly home in the early evening, but my plane was delayed three hours. I got home at two in the morning, and finally my vacation was over.

American Library Association Meeting

Over the weekend, my family and I went down to Pennsylvania for the American Library Association Meeting. My dad went for work, but my mom and sister and I went for fun.
The day before that, my family drove up to NYC so my sister could go to a concert. I walked around New York and then went to my aunts house to wait for the concert to be done. Finally, around midnight, we drove to Philadelphia and got to our hotel. It was a nice hotel, and we all went to bed.
The next day my dad left early for a meeting, so I slept in and them and then went to breakfast. Then we finally got to the exhibits, and I got a lot of free books. After that my mom went to a meeting and the rest of my family went to lunch at Terminal Market. After that, we went back to the hotel to hang out, and we did that for the rest of the night. We watched the first part of the Grammys, while eating pizza and sushi and talking to friends. It was fun.
The next day was a school day, but I had to miss it. In the morning, my mom and I got up early to go to the Literature Awards Ceremony, where they announced the Newbery and other medals.  After that we went to the hotel, and packed and drove home.

I had a really good weekend!

Long Weekend

We had a fun three day weekend! On Thursday, my mom went to Minnesota and my and my dad and sister stayed here. I didn't want to see her go, but I knew she was going to be back on Monday. Then, on Friday, my class went ice skating. That was fun, but my dentist appointment wasn't.
Anyways, on Saturday me and my dad and sister went to NC to see a band play at a record store. Then, we went to see where I was doing a reading at a bookstore, then a consignment store and a coffee shop. Then we went home, and the next day I stayed at home. I did the same for today, but I;m excited that my mom is coming home. Plus, I've written a lot of my novel and finished a book! I had a pretty good (though not too exciting) weekend!

I was fairly good, and enjoyed skating with my friends. After that, I went to get four teeth pulled . It hurt, but my dentist said I was one of the bravest clients. Now, I have to get a retainer. It was a long fun, hard day for me, and I'm glad I got through it.

Happy New Years!

Happy New Years, everyone! I hope you all had a good New Years. Mine was good! Here is what happened:
On New Years Eve, My family traveled down to a nearby city to a hotel. We brought games and stuff to do, to make our New Years Eve fun. When we got to the hotel, the whole family went swimming. After swimming, we went back to out room to change into clothes, then we went out for Asian food, then for a soda. We got back to the hotel at nine, and then we played a game. We all hung out separately, and watched the Special on TV and counted down till midnight. After that, we all went to sleep. The next day we went home.

Maybe it wasn't the biggest New Years, but I loved it! Happy 2014!

Christmas!

Merry Christmas, everyone! I had a lot of fun over the past few days. Presents had been piling under the tree and stockings were hung, and Christmas happened. I am here to tell you what happened in the past few days.
On Christmas Eve, I got up n the morning and went to the store to get stuff for Christmas Eve dinner. Then, when I got home I hung out for a while, and started decorating cookies. Me and my grandma decorated a lot, some gingerbread and some sugar. Then, I set the table for dinner and sorted the presents by person. I had some time before dinner, so I got ready for dinner. Finally, it was time to eat. We had squid soup and lasagne, and I had sparkling cherry soda. After dinner, we opened relative presents. I got clothes and journals, and a lot of interesting stuff. We watched a movie afterward, then I went to bed. I couldn't sleep for a while, but finally I did fall asleep so Santa could come.
When I woke up in the morning, me and my sister went down stairs, and found that Santa did come! He had brought me a huge Buffy The Vampire Slayer poster, plus a lot of cool egyptian stuff and art supplies. We had brunch, with sausage and french toast and fruit. It was amazing! We really just hung out all day after that.
I had a great day, and I hope you did too!

Long, Fun, Weekend!

This weekend, I had a  lot of fun and I got into the Holiday Spirit!

First, on Saturday, I stayed at home for most of the day. But, In the afternoon, Me and my parents went to get a tree! We cut it down ourselves, and at the tree farm My mom and I fed goats! We decorated it, too.

And on Sunday, my parents, my sister and I went down to NYC. My aunt came ice skating with us. I skated until my feet hurt, and then we went to Rockefeller Center to see the tree. It was snowing hard, and really crowded. But afterward, we walked to a theatre where we could eat dinner and watch a Christmas show done by Jinkx Monsoon. And during that performance, Jinkx came down to my table to talk to me! At the end, I even got a picture!

And to top off the weekend, It snowed today! What a weekend!

I got to see Catching Fire!

On Friday, when I got home from school, My mom told me that Dad, mom, and I would be seeing Catching Fire, The second movie in the Hunger Games Trilogy, in theaters that night. I got really excited, because I had been waiting to see it forever. We went that night, and ate dinner before. There was a full house, so we got tickets early so it didn't sell out. The movie was long, but I loved it and my parents and I were discussing the ending after the movie. I had read this book, and I'm excited to read Mockingjay!

Birthday Party!

This Sunday, I got to go to my first birthday party in New York so far. I could've gone to Chicago, but I was already doing this and I didn't want to let her down. All of the five fifth grade girls were there, and we all had fun and danced. We also decorated hats and did our nails, so today we all wore our hats to school. I put a giant eye on mine, and When I wore It backwards it looked like I had an eye on the back of my head! I had a fun time, and I was glad I was with a friend.

Simple Machines Field Trip

Today, in the morning, the 4th and 5th grade went to a museum to learn about simple machines. In class, we are learning about levers, inclined planes, wheels and axles, and pulleys. First, we did some experiments with pulleys and and inclined planes, and then we got to walk around the sight and look at simple machines that were actually used in the olden days by the family who lived there. It was really fun, and a great learning experience for me!

Halloween

Yesterday, as you might know, was Halloween. I went as a drag queen, and I walked around a lot. My sister walked around with me, and it was really fun. I also had a school play. I sang a song, and had a part in the play. I even got to talk to the audience! We got little packs of candy corn at school, and I got MUCH more candy while trick or treating. I was really tired after eating so much candy, and I went to sleep from a wild sugar crash. But I had a great time and hope you did too.

The D&H canal was canal that went from PA to NY. When we went there, we took a walk around a part of the canal, and got to go in a building and have someone talk to us about it. We even got to pick up coal on the side of the canal! I ate lunch there, and then we drove back to school. It was so cool, and I hope I can go back there sometime!

School Hike

Today, the 4th and 5th grade went on a hike up a mountain. It was two miles up, to miles down, and we got to look at the beautiful view. It was really pretty. We didn't make it to the top, but we did make it very far. At some points, the path was really steep, but others weren't. During the trip, we calculated how much elevation we gained and how far we made it. I was really tired at the end, but I knew I had survived climbing a mountain.
