Merry Christmas, everyone! I had a lot of fun over the past few days. Presents had been piling under the tree and stockings were hung, and Christmas happened. I am here to tell you what happened in the past few days.
On Christmas Eve, I got up n the morning and went to the store to get stuff for Christmas Eve dinner. Then, when I got home I hung out for a while, and started decorating cookies. Me and my grandma decorated a lot, some gingerbread and some sugar. Then, I set the table for dinner and sorted the presents by person. I had some time before dinner, so I got ready for dinner. Finally, it was time to eat. We had squid soup and lasagne, and I had sparkling cherry soda. After dinner, we opened relative presents. I got clothes and journals, and a lot of interesting stuff. We watched a movie afterward, then I went to bed. I couldn't sleep for a while, but finally I did fall asleep so Santa could come.
When I woke up in the morning, me and my sister went down stairs, and found that Santa did come! He had brought me a huge Buffy The Vampire Slayer poster, plus a lot of cool egyptian stuff and art supplies. We had brunch, with sausage and french toast and fruit. It was amazing! We really just hung out all day after that.
I had a great day, and I hope you did too!

Long, Fun, Weekend!
This weekend, I had a lot of fun and I got into the Holiday Spirit!
First, on Saturday, I stayed at home for most of the day. But, In the afternoon, Me and my parents went to get a tree! We cut it down ourselves, and at the tree farm My mom and I fed goats! We decorated it, too.
And on Sunday, my parents, my sister and I went down to NYC. My aunt came ice skating with us. I skated until my feet hurt, and then we went to Rockefeller Center to see the tree. It was snowing hard, and really crowded. But afterward, we walked to a theatre where we could eat dinner and watch a Christmas show done by Jinkx Monsoon. And during that performance, Jinkx came down to my table to talk to me! At the end, I even got a picture!
And to top off the weekend, It snowed today! What a weekend!

Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I had a great thanksgiving. My aunt and uncle came down to our house from New York for thanksgiving. We watched the Macy's day parade on TV. For dinner, my uncle made turkey and my mom made cranberry sauce and lots of other delicious things. There was a big dinner, and then we all played Apples to Apples. It was a fun night!

I got to see Catching Fire!
On Friday, when I got home from school, My mom told me that Dad, mom, and I would be seeing Catching Fire, The second movie in the Hunger Games Trilogy, in theaters that night. I got really excited, because I had been waiting to see it forever. We went that night, and ate dinner before. There was a full house, so we got tickets early so it didn't sell out. The movie was long, but I loved it and my parents and I were discussing the ending after the movie. I had read this book, and I'm excited to read Mockingjay!

Birthday Party!
This Sunday, I got to go to my first birthday party in New York so far. I could've gone to Chicago, but I was already doing this and I didn't want to let her down. All of the five fifth grade girls were there, and we all had fun and danced. We also decorated hats and did our nails, so today we all wore our hats to school. I put a giant eye on mine, and When I wore It backwards it looked like I had an eye on the back of my head! I had a fun time, and I was glad I was with a friend.

Simple Machines Field Trip
Today, in the morning, the 4th and 5th grade went to a museum to learn about simple machines. In class, we are learning about levers, inclined planes, wheels and axles, and pulleys. First, we did some experiments with pulleys and and inclined planes, and then we got to walk around the sight and look at simple machines that were actually used in the olden days by the family who lived there. It was really fun, and a great learning experience for me!

Halloween
Yesterday, as you might know, was Halloween. I went as a drag queen, and I walked around a lot. My sister walked around with me, and it was really fun. I also had a school play. I sang a song, and had a part in the play. I even got to talk to the audience! We got little packs of candy corn at school, and I got MUCH more candy while trick or treating. I was really tired after eating so much candy, and I went to sleep from a wild sugar crash. But I had a great time and hope you did too.

The D&H Canal Museum
On Thursday, I went to the D&H canal museum. The whole 4th and 5th grade went for a field trip, and it was really fun.
The D&H canal was canal that went from PA to NY. When we went there, we took a walk around a part of the canal, and got to go in a building and have someone talk to us about it. We even got to pick up coal on the side of the canal! I ate lunch there, and then we drove back to school. It was so cool, and I hope I can go back there sometime!

School Hike
Today, the 4th and 5th grade went on a hike up a mountain. It was two miles up, to miles down, and we got to look at the beautiful view. It was really pretty. We didn't make it to the top, but we did make it very far. At some points, the path was really steep, but others weren't. During the trip, we calculated how much elevation we gained and how far we made it. I was really tired at the end, but I knew I had survived climbing a mountain.

Lot's Going On!
In the next week, I have a lot going on.
First, I have my last two soccer games. One is on Monday and the last one is on Wednesday. I have had lots of fun playing, even though we haven't won a game.
Second, I have two field trips. One is on Tuesday and one is on Thursday. One is a hike and one is to a museum. On top of that there's also Clarinet and piano, plus homework. What a busy week!

Another Soccer Game
I have had a few other soccer games too, but I think this one is really important.
Today I had a soccer game at home field. My mom came to cheer me on. We didn't know it, but the team we were playing was really good. I played right mid a couple of times and left forward once. We ended up losing 7-0, but the second half of the game my team really pushed it and were aggressive. We were rewarded with cookies at the end.
We have only two more games left, and it will be sad to finish up the season. But there is always next year!

Dad's Birthday and Picture Day
Today is my dad's birthday. It was also picture day.
For picture day, I wore a blue-greeen dress and my hair in braids. The background was outdoors, and I put a big smile on my face. I wanted to look mature, and I think I did.
Also, today's my dad's birthday. We are going out for sushi and my mom bought him a dart board. i love him so much.

First Soccer game
Yesterday was my first soccer game. It was at a school in Connecticut, and the team took the minibus there. I was wearing new cleats and shin guards. We left before the school day ended, and we got our picture for the yearbook. I played left mid and center mid, and I substituted for people. Even though we lost 2-1, we still had fun. Tomorrow I play another game, and I am very excited for it!

Book Signings
Yesterday, in the afternoon, I went to a book signing with my mom and dad. The four authors we saw were Amy Herrick, Kate Messner, Mary G. Thompson, and Valerie Martin. I got two books there, Wake Up Missing and The Time Fetch. I also got some books that weren't coming out till next year. It was so fun, because there was lemonade and cookies and lots and lots of books. I got to sit in the front row, and they noticed me a lot. It was really fun!

First Clarinet Lesson
Yesterday I had my first clarinet lesson. Before I had it, I had soccer practice. It was kind of difficult because I had to skip part of soccer and my teacher had to find me. For the next lessons after that, we are changing the time to during school. I learned how to breathe correctly and put it together. I will practice and keep improving!

Instruments and After School Activities
In my school, You can sign up for after school activities. This year, there isn't a lot to do, but I signed up for a couple things. In school, I am going to sign up for 5th-6th grade soccer and private clarinet. I haven't played school soccer before, but we will have games and practice and more. I also haven't payed clarinet before, but we rented one and we are trying to work it around Soccer. It might be during school, it might be after. They both start next week. Also, I'm playing piano at the local music store. I have played piano before, and I'm glad I can start up again. I am on level 2A. They have already started. I'm really glad and I get to try some new things and I am feeling more connected to where I live!

Apple Orchard
Today My family and I went to an apple orchard near our house. It was huge! We got a big bag to put apples in, and we got more than twenty. When we got there, We saw how big it was and all the places you could stop and buy treats. When we got to the orchard part, it was beautiful. It was really big, with a good view of a giant hill. The apple trees went on for a long time, and there was a stream. There were even goats! I ate so many apples, and we plan on making apple crisp tonight.

Check Out My Other Blog!
I hope some of you readers go to my other blog, audreysopinion.blogspot.com. It shows all my opinions about kids books, things to do, advice and so much more! Please check it out!
School Started
Last Monday, for me was, the first day of fifth grade. It's really exciting to tell all of my readers, for a few reasons:
1) I've been writing on this blog since kindergarten and I write my own posts now (My dad used to write them for me and I would tell him what to say).
2) It was fifth grade, where I'm a bigger kid and more mature.
3) I started a new Private school in New York.
In private school, or at least in mine, so much is different from Chicago. There are smaller classrooms, and they are all 4-5. Everyone thinks I'm a fourth grader! Also, there aren't uniforms or letter grades. Also, fifth grade is different. In 4th and 5th grade here, you rotate between classrooms for math and break into groups for drama. Also, there's something called curiosity where you can study what your interested in. This year, I'll have a lot to blog about!

Improvisational poetry (I think that's what I call it)
Today while I was posting on my other blog, Audrey's Opinion, I got an idea. Why is there improv acting, but not improv writing?
Improv poetry is writing without planning it out. Like improv acting, but poetic.
So, now I present the poem, Some Things.

Some Things
I am a person, a person I say
I like to sing, I like to play
I like things, things that are big
I like giraffes, buses, airplanes and Pigs
I also like things, things that are small
Things like ice cream, donuts and balls
Yes I like things, I do I do
But I like nothing more than you.
Comment please!

Cat things
On Wednesday, August 21st, Harvey, my cat got hit by a car. He died, and we are not sure how it happened and we miss him greatly. We are getting him cremated and will always be remembered.
Because of this, we decided to get two kittens. We got them from the local stray animal shelter, and they are cute as ever. Jinkx is a small, grey tabby and Raja is a bigger, regular brown tabby. We got them yesterday. I love them!

Lots Going on
Hello, readers. Sorry I haven't blogged for awhile, but there's been lots going on. Let me just start from the beginning.
My fourth grade year ended in June. That means in September I will be starting my 5th grade year in the Hudson Valley. We have moved. I am settled in here in my house, even though it took quite a while. When I got here, I took a three week dance camp. It was fun, and I made new friends that I miss.
New Things:
I will try to post more often. There might be some new things like stories and poems. Feel free to comment!
